This species is found in Colorado, C. venosa is not. Both species are found southward. See p.274 in Moths of Western North America.

Not easy to determine venosa from cressonana from a photo. Location and flight time helps.
C. cressonana has one flight from May - July and is in the higher mountain elevations.
