Yucca Nitidulid Larva - Caplothorax melanopterus

Size: 7.0 mm
Many of these were found in the dying flower heads of ornamental Yucca.

Yucca beetle
I found these same beetles on the flowers of a yucca plant in SE PA. It seems that the beetles followed their host plant as it was planted farther north, away from its natural distribution.

Northern find
Indeed! I remember I was rather surprised to find this species in Ontario, on the same host plants year-over-year.
