Catocala? - Syngrapha angulidens

Catocala? - Syngrapha angulidens
Near the Santa Fe Ski Basin, Santa Fe County, New Mexico, USA
July 26, 2009
Size: 3 cm long?
I apologize for the quality, but my blurry pictures of another moth were identified, so that encouraged me to try this worse one. The flower is another Hymenoxys hoopesii in the same meadow around 11,000 feet.

Plusiinae: Plate 27 at MPG
That will at least get you the correct subfamily for further searching. (no rsvp, thanks)

Thank you.
I now think it's Syngrapha, and to me it looks closest to S. octoscripta, the Dusky Silver Y, based on forewings mostly lacking white except the little squiggle, and hindwings with a dark rear border and dotted fringe. I hope someone will confirm or correct that. If it's right, I doubt the guide needs this picture, as there are much better at the guide page. BAMONA doesn't list it (or S. ignea), for some reason.
