Caterpillar with a problem - parasitic Apocrita - Eulophus

Caterpillar with a problem - parasitic Apocrita - Eulophus
Elkton, Douglas County, Oregon, USA
July 29, 2009
Size: approx 23mm
July 29, 2009 - No noticeable changes to the pupa.

I did, however, notice some condensation on the inside of the jar, and after looking at the pictures, there appears to be what looks like a bit of mold on two of the pupa: third from top right, where it attaches to the leaf, then below and to the right of that one. I believe I see other traces of mold, as well. I removed the condensation, added some absorbent paper and switched to a more porous lid. This is only the second time I've tried raising a larva into an adult (I successfully raised a Multi-colored Asian Ladybug), and I'm learning it's not always as simple as sticking a leaf in a jar and taking pictures of it everyday..
