Maculata is latin for spotted.
Female: Length 3.6-5.5 mm
Male: Length 2.7-4.0 mm
Abdomen with 3 pairs of spots. (M. spiculata has more than 3)

No lines on the ventral surface of the front legs.
No lines on the ventral abdomen.
Massachusetts to Wisconsin, south to Texas, east to Florida.
