near Karr Creek at Hwy 68, East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, USA

Size: body length 14.3 mm.
We believe this is a sawfly. It is a good match for Arge quidia.
Confirmation/correction would be appreciated.

Arge sp.
It looks exactly like Arge quidia (on oaks). However, Arge scapularis (on elms) is similar and A. pectoralis (on birch) may have either an orange or black abdomen.

can't tell past Arge--
...but Dr. Smith is expected to review BG's sawflies soon, so you'll get a name for your wonderful series
