Size: 1/2 - 3/4 in
Found crawling around in dead pine needles I used as blueberry bush mulch. I noticed it has 6 legs, which I tried to capture in the picture.

this is a Calopteron larva (L
this is a Calopteron larva (Lycidae). It is well fed and bloated. No one knows what they're feeding on and it would be a big breakthrough to figure out how to rear them. They may be omnivorous, feeding from several sources including fungus, maybe even the water in moist soil which is laden with a microflora.
