Leafhopper - Iassus lanio - male

Leafhopper - Iassus lanio - Male
Guelph, Wellington, Ontario, Canada
July 24, 2009
Size: 7.3 mm
At porch light. Looks like a Stragania of some sort.

Moved
Moved from Leafhoppers.

Iassus lanio
This is a NEW RECORD FOR NORTH AMERICA for another European genus. The size you give indicates a male; females are even larger, 7.7-8.5 mm. An oak-feeding species.

Good guess, however - it does belong to the same tribe as Stragania.
