Bee - Anthidium manicatum - male

Bee - Anthidium manicatum - Male
Alameda County, California, USA
July 31, 2009
Size: 1/2 in. (13 mm)
It's big. It hovers near flowers. It buzzes. It looks predominantly gray and white. It stays still so briefly that this is the only photo I could get in two days of watching it. Finally it landed on my leg.

Moved
Moved from Anthidium.

Moved

Anthidium male
likely A. manicatum

Moved
Moved from Syrphid Flies.

It's a bee....
Greetings

Wonderful
This cancels out that mistake I made in identifying a syrphid bee mimic as a bee, right?
