Bot fly - Cuterebra fontinella

Bot fly - Cuterebra fontinella
Butter Hill Wildlife Sanctuary, Pelham, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA
August 1, 2009
Size: ~2 cm
I'm pretty sure this is a recently emerged Cuterebra fontinella fontinella, but I saw a comment by Jeff Boettner that he's interested in regional patterns... Jeff, I imagine you've seen plenty from this area, but let me know if there are any other views you'd like to see--I have shots from pretty much every conceivable angle.

Cuterebra fontinella fontinella
Hey Charley,
Nice score again! This is another very recently emerged mouse bot, Cuterebra fontinella fontinella as you guessed. Thanks for posting the face shot and its nice to have the patterns as well as the dates and places for these. The host mammal is Peromyscus leucopus in MA. Nice shots!
Jeff
