Size: approx 10mm
I've noticed there seem to be two kinds of these: one with the white at the base of the wings, like this one, and one with a basically solid brown wing.

Help to ID would be appreciated.

And they do often have whitening at the base of the wings.

Might that explain why this one was smaller than the other, because this one is a male of the species?
