Copper? - Glaucopsyche lygdamus - Male
Cache National Forest, Cache County, Utah, USA
May 21, 2009
I haven't quite got the patience to take measurements yet, but I'm working on it. I'd say about 15 mm long.

Silvery Blue
Glaucopsyche lygdamus

Awesome!
Thanks David...What gives it away?

It's one of the few "easy" Blues
There isn't anything else that looks quite like it. The lack of any distinctive markings along the margins of the wings, the round black spots ringed in white, and the rather even grayish coloring make this species fairly easy to recognize when you are looking at the underside. The upper side can be more confusingly like other species.
