Bee Fly feeding from California Honeysuckle - Bombylius

Bee Fly feeding from California Honeysuckle - Bombylius
Point Lobos State Reserve, Monterey County, California, USA
June 15, 2009
This is the first bee fly I have ever seen. I'm not sure of my ID as Bombylius major so please correct me if I'm wrong. It was feeding from a plant I identified as Lonicera hispidula (California Honeysuckle) in a small sunny glade in coastal pine forest.

Moved from Bombylius.

Moved from Greater Bee Fly.

I'm moving these images back to genus-level... in deference of Andy's expertise in this area and also the preponderance of historical seasonal data.

ID
I don't think this is B. major. It's too late in the season. This appears to be B. fascialis or B. lancifer (I can't distinguish those two).
