Silver Springtail? - Willowsia nigromaculata

Silver Springtail? - Willowsia nigromaculata
Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, USA
August 2, 2009
Size: 1.5 mm

Willowsia nigromaculata
Excellent illustration of the metallic iridisation of the light in the microscopic scales the skin of Willowsia is covered with.
It is one of the more common 'domestic' springtails.
