Sand Wasp - Bembix

Sand Wasp - Bembix
Lacey (near Olympia), Thurston County, Washington, USA
July 30, 2009
Bembix americana perhaps?

Do these guys "taste" the flowers with their antennae or just "feel" them. This little one did an *awful* lot of flower prodding with the antennae before ever stopping for a drink of nectar.
