Size: 13mm
Found on leaf of Vanillaleaf, Achlys triphylla. Had some prey in its grasp, but dropped it before I could get a shot. Coniferous Forest near river.

Yes.
Wish I knew more...The concavity between the eyes at the crown of the head is diagnostic for asilids. Stout beak is a helpful clue, too.
