True bug maybe??? - Atlanticus testaceus - Male
Kettle Moraine State Forest, Wisconsin, USA
August 2, 2008
I found this while walking a hiking trail in Wisconsin. It was just hanging out on a pathway there. I have never seen anything like it. Anyone know what it is? I'm just curious to know! After looking through the pictures and information here, I think it might be a true bug of some sort...I could be way off base though! Thanks!

No.
This is a shield-backed katydid in the genus Atlanticus, and an adult male.
