Xestocephalus? - Xestocephalus brunneus

Xestocephalus? - Xestocephalus brunneus
Alexandria, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
August 5, 2009
Size: 3 mm
Found this tiny leafhopper at my patio light and brought it in for a quick chill-out and photo shoot. Here he was starting to thaw - I don't think I even had a minute before that happened. Luckily he sat still for a bit even though he had collected himself, and I was able to take this shot.

Moved
Moved from Leafhoppers.

Xestocephalus brunneus
The only tree-inhabiting species in the genus. Like X. piceus, but smaller, and with pale spots at the wing tips. This is a very dark specimen.

Great photos, nice and crisp!

Thanks!
I kept this one, in case you wanted it or any other shots. Let me know if you do.

It's definitely much darker than the other in the Guide, and almost bluish.
