Southwestern Black Widow (Latrodectus hesperus) - Latrodectus hesperus - female

Southwestern Black Widow (Latrodectus hesperus) - Latrodectus hesperus - Female
Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, USA
June 11, 2005
Size: 3/4" or so.
Caught this girl, among three egg sacs, in our automatic sprinkler system pipe well. Rather than poisoning them, I've taught our children to identify and stay away from them.
