Miridae and ? - Plagiognathus salicicola

Miridae and ? - Plagiognathus salicicola
47.58030N 52.73277W (WGS84), Pippy Park, St. John's, Northeast Avalon, Newfoundland/Labrador, Canada
August 6, 2009
Size: 5mm head to wing tips
Before I move this series to the Miridae page, can anyone tell me what the other 'bug' might have been? I'm also curious if it was just coincidence that they were so close or is there some other connection between them? I'm surprised that one species of 'bug' wouldn't frighten another species away.

who knew -- it's new...
nice addition, guys

Thanks, v!
Anyway, I'm worrying about my misID whenever I dare add a new species page. But, I comfort myself with the thought that it's the thing someone should do. Some may be wrong, but it can be corrected after the truth comes to the light, isn't it?

Great
Thank you for your intestinal fortitude in doing what you think is right. [smile] Maybe you can be comforted somewhat by the fact that these new species pages are for images from this isolated island out here in the North Atlantic where few people besides myself are taking photos for Bug Guide. [another smile] I take it from V’s comment that the ‘other’ bug is probably a female of the same species? BTW, given that it's now on a new species page, I've added an additional photo (ME1D048963). It was on a wild thistle if that is of any help.

you're not alone, my friend.
