These were fairly abundant crawling around on the desert floor after dark.

We have them here in powder blue and shiny black. See the bump on the frons?

 
That does seem like a distinc
That does seem like a distinctive feature. I don't think these had any blue tint.

 
Either the blue stuff comes off
when they age, or we have several spp here, too. But the genus is safe
