Orsillinae Stål 1872
Numbers
27 spp. in 5 genera in our area(1), >220 spp. in ~30 genera total(2)
Range
worldwide, with more than half of the spp. restricted to the Hawaii; Nysius is cosmopolitan, but most genera are restricted to either New World or Old World(3)
Food
less specialized than other Lygaeidae; feed on vegetative parts of plants, seeds, and flowers and are often associated with a broad range of unrelated plants(3)
