Green Eyes - Chrysopophthorus americanus

Green Eyes - Chrysopophthorus americanus
Alexandria, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
August 9, 2009
Size: 4-5 mm
I almost ignored this tiny thing, but then I noticed its green eyes while taking a picture of something next to it, so I turned my camera on it and was glad I did so. Beautiful eyes!

Attracted to my patio lights at night.

Thank you
There are many lacewings, both brown and green, that hang out at my lights at night. Interesting that the eyes of this critter initially reminded me of lacewing eyes - I wonder if that is not an accident, somehow?
