This spittlebug was on top of the red concrete retaining wall between our driveway and our yard. This spittlebug seems to be the same as one I photographed three days earlier:

I hadn't seen the chart...
so thanks for pointing it out to me. I'm surprised how many variations there can sometimes be within a single species.

This looks a lot like some of the images under Philaenus spumarius but there is a wide variety for that species. I'm not sure if I sould move this there.
