Due to its proboscis, I'm guessing this may be some kind of weevil...am I correct?

Common name?
I looked at your link and it seems to be a Scolops sulcipes. Does it have a more common name. I'm assuming it doesn't belong to the weevil family but is related to the palnt hoppers, right?

 
Scolops sulcipes
These insects are commonly called "patridge bugs" because they sit up with their noses in the air.
