Nymph Milkweeds - Oncopeltus cayensis

Nymph Milkweeds - Oncopeltus cayensis
Port St Lucie, St Lucie County, Florida, USA
August 5, 2009
Found a few groups of these in a field in Port St Lucie near the Savannah Preserve State Park.

Moved from Frass.

Moved from True Bugs.

Moved from ID Request.

We currently have these Florida red and yellow guys
in the guide under a different species here. If you get back to this location, get some images of the adults please.

Not beetles.
Probably nymphs of large milkweed bugs, Oncopeltus fasciatus, but I can't rule out another species, or even the "cotton stainer" family from this one image alone. Definitely not beetles, nymphs of a true bug instead.

ahhh I see. Thanks!
