Several Lady beetle larva are so similar that it makes it difficult for a newbie like me to nail this one. After quite a bit of searching, I believe it is a Seven-spotted Lady Beetle (Coccinella septempunctata) larva. Can anyone confirm this please? Thanks. Oh, for size reference, that's the side of my watch and the stem knob on the left.

(That being the easy way to spell it!)

With only a side view, it's harder to tell, but the pattern does match C. 7-punctata; size/shape of tubercles and the very short bristly hairs are typical. Looks like it has that species' orange "face," too - I can see the edge of it at the front of the head.

Hey, Abbie, the easy way is sometimes what we have to do with the way some of these insect names are spelled. Makes life easier, and who can't use that, at times?

Thanks for the confirmation. Still new at this but enjoy the 'hunt'.

I love the ladies!
Lady beetles have been my passion this summer - I've reared three species from egg to adult, and collected larvae of other species and seen them pupate and emerge as adults. They're so much fun to watch, especially when they're chowing down on those pesty garden aphids!
