A friend of mine said she thought this might be an oral weaver spider. I am very curious as to what this is

mystery spider
I believe it's a spined micrathena (M. gracilis), at least that's how my Golden Guide to Spiders and their kin (1968, p. 67)has it listed.
I took a picture of one that looks very like that! M. g it is!

That lovely specimen is a female Micrathena gracilis!

I love Micrathenas! There are tons around where I live and they're completely harmless.
