Fly - Dryomyza anilis

Fly - Dryomyza anilis
Harvard, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
September 16, 2005

Moved
Moved from Dryomyza.

Dryomyza anilis
I believe also -I can see what looks like setal punctures or even the bristles on R1.

Moved
Moved from Dung Flies.

Dryomyza
Note the absence of bristles on the shaft of all tibiae, dorsal surface of thorax without larger bristles except posteriorly, frons also without larger bristles except posteriorly.

Moved
Moved from Flies.

due to the
dense yellow setae and complete dorsal transverse suture on te scutum, i'm now pretty sure that this is a scathophagid.

thank you M. Buck
for correcting my ID error.

Not sure
so I'll move it back to the Diptera page.

are you sure this is a sciomyzid?
I've never seen thick golden setae on a marsh fly like this one has.
