Cockroach ?? - Cryptocercus darwini

Size: 2 inch
This is very curious to me. I have never seen these in Tennessee before. There were many of them invading this one dead and highly decade Log. The log was almost mulch. when we discovered them. We saw three right off and they tried to burrow themselves into the mulch. I didn’t want to take one home and I didn’t get great pictures of them. Any Clue. Wow
I’m sure it’s a Cockroach

Moved tentatively based on location
the only sp. known in this area is C. darwini (see map) -- the Appalachian Cryptocercus have been split into 4 spp. based on chromosomal differences(1)
