Speckled Sharpshooter - Paraulacizes irrorata

Speckled Sharpshooter - Paraulacizes irrorata
Memphis-my front yard, Shelby County, Tennessee, USA
August 14, 2009
I saw this unique insect on my fennel plant while I was watching a swallowtail caterpillar starting it's cocooning this afternoon in my front yard.
Is this possibly a squash vine borer moth? I've never seen one, and this little fellow was very interesting
