Elongate nitidulid - Caplothorax lugubris Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA August 15, 2005 Size: 5 - 6 mm
A half-dozen of these squeezed their way into my supposedly secure supercharger (battery-powered aroma wafter) that was loaded half with aluminum trays of malt and water, and half with malt, water and brewers' yeast. (None were found in the pitfall trap under the exhaust port!)
They have survived over a month in a jar with various rotting foodstuffs until this photo session. I'll probably shoot a few more pix and release them.
