Good news all around, for bugguide, you, and me:-)

Brachinus hirsutus
based on my microsopic examination of this specimen. Diagnostic combination is a southwestern Brachinus with densely pubescent pronotum (thus "hirsute"), strongly costate (ribbed) elytra, absent pair of long lateral pronotal setae, and pale venter. Some of these features are better visualized at synonym B. puncticollis. Thanks Tom for an exciting three-way new addition: yours, mine, & BugGuide.
