Arizona Metalmark - Calephelis arizonensis - male

Arizona Metalmark - Calephelis arizonensis - Male
San Rafael Grasslands near Lochiel, Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA
August 6, 2009
Identified in the field by Jim Brock.

and indeed I was wrong
I keep forgetting that Rawson's and Arizona aren't considered the same thing (I still tend to think they are the same), and that in Arizona it is the "other new one". Sorry about any confusion, just a mental lapse on my part. At least four of the ones on the Butterflies of America web site, listed as C. nemesis, look like C. arizonensis to me, so take this with a grain of salt.

Moved from Rawson's Metalmark.

At the risk of being wrong,
I'm pretty sure this is a Rawson's Metalmark.

Moved from Fatal Metalmark.
