Stichopogon argenteus

Stichopogon argenteus
N. of Blue River along the Wisconsin River, Grant County, Wisconsin, USA
August 18, 2009
Size: 7mm
I searched for this species on sand dunes along Lake Michigan without results three weeks ago. I was amazed to find this species along the Wisconsin River, but it wasn't easy to find on the large sand bar where I sometimes had problems seeing it even though I knew where it had landed. It was flying with Stichopogon trifasciatus.

This is the next genus that Jeff has started revising.
