Big beetle found at night. - Dynastes tityus - Male
Great Falls, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA

Size: just under 2.5"
This beetle was attracted to a light at about 10:00pm and flew into me. Its eyes are below the first horn and above the bottom horn. I put it down next to an earwig to give an idea of size. This is a very substantial animal. It has very grabby feet too, and some odd antennae things down below the bottom horn. Its eyes were quite large and reflected in the light

Found 5!
We found five ( 1 male and 4 females under an old tree stump in Beulaville NC. The pictures are uploaded in images.
