Clearwing Moth - Carmenta wellerae

Clearwing Moth - Carmenta wellerae
Red Rock Canyon, near Patagonia, Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA
August 8, 2009

Thanks William
These moths are always fun to see, and it's great that you can put a name on them.

MOTH ID
It is Carmenta wellerae. I was in Patagonia on the same dates and collected numerous specimens on pheromone lures. This species is known primarily from this part of southeastern AZ.
