None of the ones in the guide have that red band on the abdomen.

And it is a male. The amount of red on the abdomen can vary: from practically non-existent to extensive, like in this one!
A good thing to look at for determining this species are the very orange hind tarsi, which are visible just behind the wing in the upper part of the picture!
