6-mm earwig - Labia minor - female

6-mm earwig - Labia minor - Female
St. Louis area, Franklin County, Missouri, USA
August 21, 2009
Size: 6mm, wX cerci, antennae
I have noticed this small earwig species occasionally around St. Louis since moving to the area over 20 years ago (the only earwig species I've ever encountered in this area). It is not abundant, but may be spreading, as this one came to my porch light in the next county to the west. Just after I took these images, she flew off.

pls edit to fill the date box
Moved from Earwigs.

Filled in the date using EXIF information from the image. Of course, the EXIF values are based on the camera's internal clock, which could be off- but it's a lot closer than 12/31/1969.

Moved from ID Request.

Added 09/15: I had three more of these fly to the light last night.
