Common Whitetail - Plathemis lydia
Riverside, Bristol County, Rhode Island, USA

I am submitting this photo with the permission of the photographer, Hildi Rezendes. It landed on a concrete area near her deck. She was able to get one photo before it flew off. She mentioned that it had "dark, brownish patches on its wings". I've not been able to ID it. Any help to do so is greatly appreciated by both of us.
