fly - Toxophora amphitea

fly - Toxophora amphitea
Pinellas County, Florida, USA
August 24, 2009
Size: .5 inch
ID please?
I have been watching this mud pot expecting to see a wasp hatch out but... SURPRISE. A fly (two actually) emerged. Was this a paracitized wasp pot?
added note: The "second fly" was the exoskeleton of the pictured fly.

Moved from Toxophora.

Parasitized
Not the clearest shot of the nest, but it looks like it must be a Eumenes pot.

Quite an interesting fly, Matt.
Hope you get an ID. Suggestion: Move your post to Flies for expert attention.
