Planthopper - Sayiana sayi

Planthopper - Sayiana sayi
Mobile (Dog River), Mobile County, Alabama, USA
August 24, 2009
Size: 12-14mm
A rather large planthopper with visually noticeable amber wings. It's pretty waxed up for any head detail. Perhaps one of the Fulgorid planthoppers?

Sayiana sayi --det. C. Bartlett
Moved from Anotia.

new genus for the guide, Bob! can't thank you enough for the treat.

Moved
Moved from Free-living Hemipterans. Interestingly, August seems to be their month.

Anotia
A Derbid: notice how thin the head looks. It's probably freshly emerged, with the nymphal wax still sticking to it, and without the color pattern developed yet.
