Identification

"The dark band tapered towards both edges of each wing is characteristic." — KGA Hamilton

Note the sparse markings at the apex of the forewings and the medial tapering of the band on the forewings.

Remarks

The identity of this species is unclear and is in need of confirmation. Identifications here and on iNaturalist are presently based on comments from Dr. Andy Hamilton. Hamilton's revision of the genus(2) did not treat this species, and the original description is too sparse to be sure of its identity.

Empoa unifasciata — shares the costal and medial tapering of the forewing band, but has darker markings at the forewing apex.
