Does the cricket survive this, or is it curtains for cricket in the end? I was surprised to see the cricket looking as healthy as it did, and able to get around, though hobbling with that larva interfering with the leg.

 
Pretty sure it's all over
for the cricket... it's just a slow slurping-to-death rather than a quick dispatching.

 
now i wish
I'd freed the cricket from that thing, though I guess that's playing favorites, save one and starve another.
