quality photos of selected representatives of northwestern fauna, incl. a number of type specimens; some sections (e.g., Aradidae) are very helpful; the list of their imaged Heteroptera here includes about a hundred spp. that we don't have yet among Alydidae, Anthocoridae, Aradidae, Corixidae, Cydnidae, Gerridae, Oxycarenidae, Saldidae, Scutelleridae, Tingidae... (they haven't yet posted several major families), and the beetle section, with ca. 3000 identified spp. (list), seems to be at least as much impressive.

the resource seems to be unavailable as of Nov 2016

a helpful source, esp. to check NC state records; used to cover >21,000 species, but (i) the taxonomy was quite outdated in many cases, and (ii) the source was not a complete checklist of NC fauna, either, as it did not cover data from other institutional or private holdings
