Ant-like insect - Hyalymenus tarsatus

Ant-like insect - Hyalymenus tarsatus
Dallas Ft. Worth area, Tarrant County, Texas, USA
August 26, 2009
At first, I was sure this was an ant, the biggest I have seen here. I have
never seen this in Texas. It was 1/2 to 5/8" in length, not counting antenae.
The largest ants I have ever seen in the yard were carpenter or fire ants, with
none of these markings.

Nymph
Nymph of a broad-headed bug, family Alydidae. Pat yourself on the back for recognizing it was NOT an ant:-)

Texas Bow-legged Bug Nymph
Thank you! I have also found this, which looks the most like 'my'
bug: http://bugguide.net/node/view/218526/bgpage
Which would make it a Texas Bow-legged Bug Nymph - Hyalymenus tarsatus
