Pupae! - Spilosoma congrua

Pupae! - Spilosoma congrua
Alexandria, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
August 29, 2009
Size: 1.4 cm
Finally! After watching these caterpillars for weeks, wondering how long they'd go on, I found three pupae at the bottom of their container. Meanwhile, one monarch cat made a chrysalis and left it, and another hatched, grew and became a chrysalis. All in a shorter span of time than these guys, from the time they hatched till now.

They hatched on August 1.
