Size: Guessing 2 cm.

Paper from the 1950's is online in pdf. And oddly there is no female that seems to meet this description in the Mexico group. Most of the females are, in fact, dark or iridescent colors. Interesting, because this is certainly a female. Also, Nick, that paper has a male key for the male I sent you this past year.

I was more like "what the $%@#!"
This species of
Psorthaspis
is completely unfamiliar to me, and I seriously doubt it's in the same lineage as the eastern
mariae
and
legata
or the less derived all black species in this genus. It might take me a while but I should be able to get this down to species.

I'm...
going to have to get the Evans 1966 paper, this is almost certainly a Mexican species that crossed the border. It does not fit the description of any species normally found in the U.S.
