Swamp Milkweed Beetle? - Labidomera clivicollis

Swamp Milkweed Beetle? - Labidomera clivicollis
Savannah, Andrew County, Missouri, USA
August 23, 2009
Size: 3/8 inch
When I first spotted this specimen I thought it was the Swamp Milkweed Beetle. After looking it up on the guide it looks different. There is no tell-tale "cross" through the elytra. It was lighter in color too, almost tannish-red. It was found on milkweed though.

i think your ID is right - Swamp Milkweed Leaf Beetle
Labidomera clivicollis
They vary a lot in color and pattern. Here's one I found in KS bordering MO, also more yellowish.
