Tersa Sphinx - Xylophanes tersa

Tersa Sphinx - Xylophanes tersa
Fort Bragg, Cumberland County, North Carolina, USA
September 25, 2005
We already have a rep. photo from NC in Sept, but I just couldn't resist adding this shot.

WOW!
Lynette! What a great photo and unusual moth. It's the first time I ever saw such a photo or even heard of the species. We'd probably go ballistic if we found one of those at our light. According to the Checklist of Wisconsin Moths, the species is in the state, but not where we are. Of course, it could stray in some night. Now I know what to be watching for. Thank You!

Thanks,
and good luck, I hope you find one.
